Energy Musings. Here. Now.

Today!

Its a new year, and the beginning of a new cycle.  Mindful of course, that we are continuously cycling so to consider starting and ending points is somewhat arbitrary.  The opportunity to begin again, to bring in the new exists in each and every breath. Not on any calendar date.  Though we celebrate the full and new moon with rituals, the moon of course, is always in a cycle.  And each step of the way is in fact significant.  Each phase has its lessons, its rewards and its challenges.

Its easy to get swept up into the drama and majesty of those end/beginning points.  And to anchor into a particular point is not necessarily irrelevant. But really, the important question is:  where are you in your cycle?  where are you in this cycle?  What are the beginnings and what are the endings that are present right here for you?  In other words, locate yourself in the cycle rather than just imposing it onto you. Without forcing events into a label or construct, just see what is present.  Perhaps, on this New Year, for you it was about closure, or opening, or just being in the middle of it all.  The structure of cycles is fluid and encourages us to pay attention to the moment we are in, not to label ourselves prematurely or absentmindedly.

I’m not quite in “new year” mode yet as dictated by cultural phenomena around me. I’m still shedding, clearing, becoming lighter and more spacious. This process takes the time it takes… no more no less.  And when my “new year” moment arrives, I will greet it with celebration, joy and open arms no matter what date it lands on, no matter what the phase of the moon offers.

Sending blessings on this cycle, your cycle and all cycles,  all-ways.

Peace.

Me & the Moon

Why Full Moon Offerrings?

They are everywhere these days and have become a bit of a marketing hook to get people in the door.  But I have to tell you, from the bottom of my infinite heart, how deeply I resonate with the lunar energy and how my work came to be.  You see, it unfolded over time.  Years, maybe millennia, from a shared communal connection to the moon and her pull, her sway, to something much more specific and directional. She led me to uncloak information in the darkest of darks that came from many traditions over time and space and that required nothing less than to leap into her shadows to know the secrets that lie there.  My moon training is by no means traditional.  Although I have done my share of research and study through both Astronomy and Astrology to understand her waxing and waning and her continuous cycling.  I have also been trained to work with womens rhythms, their cycles and to understand the wisdom through reflection that the moon provides.

But thats not even at the heart of my path, of my work.  I live in ceremony with the moon at all times and hear her whispers, and sometimes her desperate calls, as she directs me to work in specific ways through monthly patterns and flow.   It is absolutely not just about me showing up and “going with the flow” and being spontaneous.  I don’t work with the moon because its “cool” or “trendy” or even “fun”.  Its actually, an incredible service and an enormous amount of work to be fully present with her. Before each lunar event, I go deep into meditation to listen to and respect her guidance for that particular creation.  For this reason, no two moon events are ever identical AND it is almost impossible for me to script the details too far in advance.

Her overall guiding message is to be gentle and nurturing for even as her work contains and embraces the shadow, we must remember that this life, that this being, is fragile and delicate and must be held with the utmost care and tenderness.  I use sound mostly now, but in the past I have used dance and movement and art and silence as my main tools.  The sound in collaboration with my Moon offerrings is very consciously crafted to move through cycles for connection, which, by my training and experience, requires the most reverential approach for establishing long lasting quality harmony within each person present.  This harmonizing requires an intimate knowledge of ceremony and discernment that cannot be learned quickly or superficially, but takes place over a long un-folding, over a lifetime, and many lifetimes.

The moon, she is powerful.  And we would be best served by respecting and honoring her power with those who have dedicated themselves to guiding on her behalf.

Blessings on this moon, and always.

Poem for the New Moon 2/16.

Who are you?  I asked the stars.

And they twinkled and burned and danced in fluttering patterns against the backdrop of darkness.

And so did I.

Who are you? I asked the clouds.

And they drifted and hung and swayed in lilting rhythms across the silvery sky.

And so did I.

Who are you?  I asked the rain.

And it fell with a heavy sigh in orchestrated unison collapsing to the earth in complete surrender.

And so did I.

Who are you?  I asked the sun.

And it blazed with glory and might, its powerful song arcing across the wide open curvature of the planet, in a single note.  And so did I.

Who are you?  I asked the moon.

And it radiated its beacon of glistening light in undulating waves embracing all of creation with a long slow exhale.

And so did I.

Who are you?  I asked myself.

And I melted into the earth and surrendered to the sky.

And the stars became my eyes;

And the clouds, my thoughts;

And the rain, my tears;

And the sun, my belly;

And the moon my, heart.

And so am I.

Energy Musings.  Here. Now.

This Weekend and coming Week!

Unplug

In the next week leading up to a very potent full moon closing off January, its a great time to unplug and tune IN.  This could mean literally, stay off the devices and anything that connects you to the internet or set strong boundaries around this area and stick with them.

Your passions, particularly strong held ones that have been suppressed (perhaps necessarily) will be bubbling to the surface so watch your words carefully and keep email to a minimum.  Theres a danger here of your intention being easily misread.  Rather, take this burst of conviction to a creative outlet:  dance, draw, sing, play, write.  Allow it a creative voice rather than an argumentative one and you’ll be setting the right path forward.

As issues come up on your radar and those around you get triggered,  keep a light heart and an open mind.  And remember the powerful effect of the Full Moon as the time approaches.  The Super (appears larger than usual) Blue (2nd full moon in a month) Blood (lunar eclipse) Wolf (traditional name of Jan moon) Moon.  Phew.

Are you ready for it?

Energy Musings. Here. Now.

Today!

Nothing is unrelated.  So many lines of inter connection are present in all our daily work, play and interactions.   It can become overwhelming to try to take it all in. So, in order to  cope, we focus, order the information and move forward. This is helpful and necessary. But it can also lead us to forget the interconnectedness of it all and the multiple lenses that exist in collaboration with one another at any one moment, for any event.

Take a look around this week and be willing to see this  interconnectedness.  Anchoring in deeply to your own rootedness, feeling grounded and secure, notice what might seem like “coincidences” happening all around.  Are you willing to see these as not just coincidences, but important information that is necessary for your survival and thriving at this moment?  Not to brush them off or turn away or be dismissive or roll your eyes?

These coincidences, these happenings, can be on many levels.  Perhaps the animal world is offering you a mirror, a reflection?  Seeing or hearing a particular animal repeatedly this week or recently.  Perhaps its something you have been seeing as a mere annoyance (keep losing your keys recently? ).  Look to the hidden messages this week as they are coming up all around us.

They are here to guide us forward through the transition coming with the Equinox. To move us into a place of balance and equanimity.  Understanding how the logical, scientific, and analytical information works in union with the supernatural, energetic and sacred is critical.  Balance the Mind and the Spirit for this coming week and you will find yourself moving forward into this Fall with clearer discernment and awareness.

Word of the Day:  Equipoise

E-Themes of the Week:  Hawks and birds of prey, Fire, Revolutionary War, France, low back pain, ‘accidents’ on the physical body (minor but irritating), ovaries, lymphatic system.

Energy Musings.  Here. Now.

Today!

Exhale.  Let it go.  With a deep long sigh.

Its been an intense ride the last few days (weeks?!) for many of us and the conjunction of the recent full moon and other astrological events created a powerful portal into the past: our individual past as well as our collective past.  This has come up to be cleared, cleaned and cleansed in preparation of the August Solar Eclipse.  The themes around this deal with deep deep sorrow, sadness, regret, remorse.  As we clear our collective consciousness, its important to know where these themes lie in ourselves.

We are being directed to look to our personal past. This could be reflected in your childhood, your ancestral lines or your past lives:  depending on your belief system and your perspective.  Vibrational dissonance is needed to shift the stuck places:  use your voice, movement, rattles, sound tools, etc  to move into these areas and literally “shake them”.  Gently.  With kindness.  From this place of movement, come in to harmony with your being, bathing yourself with forgiveness, atonement and love.

The Ho’pono’pono is a powerful prayer for this work.  Repeating the phrases “Thank you.  I love you.  I am sorry.  Please forgive me.” and directing them to yourself, to those very places you are working.

Then go outside, feel your feet on this earth and soak in the warmth and health of the sun,  filling yourself with this powerful earth energy.  Grounded, Full, Alive.

Word of the Day: Forgiveness.

Energy Musings. Here. Now.

Today.

On the cusp of the Full Moon.

Beautiful Dreamer.  Moonbeams aglow.  Sinking into the watery darkness shining our inner light.

Preparing for the impact of the Full Moon, we practice softening and creating space in our breath, our being, our mind, our day.

Slow down.  Pause between things.  Notice the details.

Bring an extra dose of patience into everything you do today.  Give yourself the room to look around, pay attention and acknowledge.  In each moment of acknowledgement, let go of judgement, hooks, triggers.

It doesn’t matter how busy or slow you day and work are.  Theres always time for an extra breath, a moment of awareness, a time-in. Take as many of these as you can today.

Then dream well, sleep well, restore well, heal well, relax well, and sink deeply into well-ness riding the waves of the Full Moon.

Song of the Day:

Beautiful Dreamer sung by Cheryl Crow

1. Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me, Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee; Sounds of the rude world, heard in the day, Lull’d by the moonlight have all pass’d away! Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song, List while I woo thee with soft melody; Gone are the cares of life’s busy throng, Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me! Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!

2. Beautiful dreamer, out on the sea, Mermaids are chanting the wild lorelei; Over the streamlet vapors are borne, Waiting to fade at the bright coming morn. Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart, E’en as the morn on the streamlet and sea; Then will all clouds of sorrow depart, Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me! Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
