The Secret Ceremony

it started in a dream.  or was it a dream, really? turtles.
Turtles, crossing the road, moving forward. Traveling slowly, as turtles do, while cars whizzed by them. The turtles, unfazed by the speed of that which was moving around them.  Steady, slow, determined.
This crossing to where?  why? I wondered these things as I witnessed their travels.  Cars stopped.  A momentary pause in the buzz of activity.  A driver gets out,  helps the Turtle reach a safer place on its journey.  Everyone is patient, no one gets irritated.  In a brief moment we are all connected to this turtle, her journey, and we are all reverent in the process.
This is a gift, this crossing.  To those who witness it, not just to the one initiated.  I see this scene, not once, not twice, but 3…4 times played out. Exactly the same each time.  I am always the car right next to to the car who stops the traffic for the turtle.  Like a co-pilot, a prime witness, to this event.  I wonder in vain, ‘what does it mean”?  But meaning is often difficult to ascertain in the moment. There is only being present to what is happening.  meaning follows presence.
And then the turtle enters my dreams.  Night after night I dream of turtles.  The last night of these dreams, the most potent.  A beautiful huge sea turtle who is trapped.  something heavy tied around its back leg holds it to the sea floor.  I saw this injustice happening.  Someone did it intentionally. I felt it like it happened to me. And so I am searching for the sunken sea turtle, with little hope for its survival. With diligence, I find it. I see her limp body weighted to the bottom of the sea.  I go in to bring her out, and as I lift her out of the water, I see her still struggling to free herself.  Her limbs fanning the air around her in an invisible dance.  My heart leaps. She is alive.  More than just alive, she is totally fine.  I untangle her foot and place her on the waters edge and for a moment she turns around and we lock eyes. The turtle and I.  And the depth of her gratitude washes over me as a gift of tremendous bounty.  I am humbled.
And she turns and dives into the water.

Energy Musings.  Here. Now.

Today!

Remember.  remember a piece of who you are.  before you were told what to be or how to act or who to please.

Remember.  remember the things you used to do that engaged you in a place where you lost all track of time and the world and its worries melted away around you.

Remember.  remember the moments of connection you’ve had through your life. the people who touched you. the places that resonated you.  the memories that filled you.

Remember.  remember pure joy, how it overflowed from your being.  remember how you expressed that joy.  how you let it out to fill the world.

Remember. remember where you’ve been, who you’ve walked with, what you have accomplished.

Remember.  remember who you are.

Energy Musings.  Here. Now.

Today!

New Moon on Monday!  Theres an amplification in the air.  Asking you to look at the “stuck” places in your being, in your body, in your mind, in your life, in your home, in your relationships, in your work, in it ALL.

Its a bit of an organic process. Noticing one holding pattern, seeing it reflected somewhere else and asking yourself where and how you can best shift it.  If you can find these places on and in the physical body, down to the most subtle sensations, and shift them their,  that shift will ripple out from the inside and subsequently shift the places where it is magnified and represented outside you.  But this requires intense personal work.  On a very deep, engaged, discerning and skilled level.  When this level of work is not apparent or appropriate, we begin to look around and see where we can ‘unstick’.

Sometimes you might just have to dig in the dirt. Move it, toss it, aerate it, free it up to receive oxygen.  Then notice in your body what you register. Release.

Sometimes you might need to build a fire.  Gather wood, build a structure, set it ablaze and watch the transmutation of one form into another.  Then notice in your body what you register.  Let Go.

sometimes you need to rake leaves, plant seeds, move furniture, clean the house, make art, scrub the sink, climb a tree….

If you don’t know what to do, look around with the question “what is stuck”?  It might show up as very literal, glaringly obvious, quite subtle or totally metaphorical.  But its there, its there.

Take some quiet time today to find that stuck place that is asking for your help.  Listen. Listen.  And then, with the dark moon as your ally, let it go.  Then give yourself time to notice the changes that will begin to unfold for you moving forward.
