Energy Musings. Here. Now.

Today!!!

Clear a pathway, just one pathway, to something, someplace, someone today.  It might be a small corner of your desk so you have a better view through a window, or perhaps raking an area in your backyard, or maybe even just sweeping a hallway in your home?  It could be a phone call or conversation that needs to happen to clear the air. You can even clear a pathway in your mind using your breath. Or in your body, using dance.  Or clear a pathway  in your work, focusing your time and energy on a project.  There are many ways to consider “clearing a pathway”.

Each perception is just a lens that helps us see more clearly. Remember there are always multiple perspectives at play simultaneously.  It can be overwhelming and confusing to try to think of all these perspectives all at once,  but if you pick one lens to see through clearly, all the other implications and areas will be impacted as well.  Its just about getting started and following through with your intention.

Today, look for a pathway to be cleared. A way to get from point A to point B.  And then, with focus and attention, walk mindfully down the path you have created, and see what is there for you.

Energy Musings.  Here. Now.

Today!

Rest.  Clear.  Ground.  Slow down your pace.  Re-frame your week by nurturing and taking a time IN today.

Typically, Mondays are seen as “manic”, a leap back into the business of our lives after our weekend.  But this is largely manipulated by our perception.  Try changing your perception today.

Instead of leaping into your work week, how about stepping in mindfully?  Allow the fullness of your work to come in one steady gentle step at a time.  See if this new approach gives you new tools, a new perspective, a new outlook on your work load.  You might feel like you have no control over the work you have to do. That you don’t have the  opportunity to slow down.

I ask you this:  Do you have the time to take one extra breath?  One conscious inhale and One conscious exhale?  This alone, will make a difference.  Use your breath to clear away any attachment, stress, anxiety that creeps in so you can see your work more clearly.

“Breathing in I know that I am breathing in. Breathing out, I know that I am breathing out. ”

Your work will still be there. No one will notice you’ve taken one extra breath before walking into that meeting, before speaking to a group, before turning on your computer, before responding to an email.  But YOU will notice.  You will.

Energy Musings.  Here. Now.

Today!

Be still and listen.  Be still and look.  Be still and breathe.  Just for a moment, or moments,  stop and simply pay attention.  With each exhale, notice more.  Until you find the places you hadn’t been noticing before.  Then linger here.  Observe and Accept what it is that you feel.

These places have been hidden. In the business of your life, the activity of your day, the distractions of the world, it becomes too easy to overlook these more subtle places.  All it takes is our attention gently guided and directed.  It doesn’t need to be formal or long or taught.  You already know how to do this, just give yourself the space and time you need to take that journey inward.  In the process, shedding judgement, expectation and anxiety.  These too are smokescreens, meant to keep you from finding those hidden places of holding within you, of shining your own inner light.

Today is a day to look.  To shine the light  in these places.  To be honest.  To be gentle.  To be forgiving.  to love.

Weave this into your day today, throughout your day today. Planting seeds, sewing light.

Peace.

Messages Reflecting

I walked through the woods today. A place I walk regularly.  A place where I ground, feel, connect and let go.  A place that is at once ordinary and exquisite.  A place I love.

But today, I walked differently through these same woods.  Today this path felt different.

I found the remnant of an old stone gateway, long overgrown and forgotten, that I somehow had never really noticed before.  As I passed through, time shifted.  My footsteps lingered.  I walked as if in slow motion, moving with my breath like an ancient giant being. Careful, oh so careful, of every pitch forward.

The world looked transformed from this place.  The colors, brighter. The sounds, clearer.  The wind, cooler.  I walked and walked and walked, at a snails pace, to a pond I love dearly.  Here I lingered, for a long time, gazing at the reflections.  The upside down world greeted me, waved at me, called me, laughed at me, beckoned me.

What is a reflection, I wondered?  What is this mirror of the world I am looking into?  What secrets does it reveal? What messages does it have?  Breathing deeply, I moved on.  Continuing my journey through the woods.  Along the way, I found the stub, the knee, of a tree root, closely resembling a spiral.  I bent down to examine it.  It spiraled inward clockwise, like a lid sealing a jar tightly closed. What secrets is it hiding, I asked?

I looked up, and something called me to leave the comfort of the path I was on and just to go up. Straight up the incline, the steep hill before me.  So I climbed, until I reached the top, turning around to gaze down upon the path I was just on.  But then I noticed another tree root.  Its shape and form remarkable resembling Ganesha, the remover of obstacles.  I bent down again, offered my prayers, placed my hands on the earth and was suddenly pulled in.  My being traveled into the earth and through the roots of this Oak tree I was under.  Down and down I followed the roots and then I gazed up at the Tree taking in its full height, understanding that for as far up as it reached, it also reached down into the earth.

And here I was, standing on this earth, on this physical ground that marked the midpoint between its tallest visible point and its lowest invisible point.  Holding the space of the middle, the balance, the clear place.

I turned again to face the descending landscape before me. This time, I saw not a forrest of trees, but the reflection of their beings, their roots, dug deep into the earth.  I recognized that what we see from our perspective is only half the truth.   And the woods before me became alive as never before.  As I slowly, even more slowly, walked back to my path, I felt my own imprint, the vibration of each and every footstep, echoing below and into the earth as I walked above it.  As I passed the grove of  Cypress trees, I found another root, distinctly in the shape of a Buddha.  He seemed to be waving at me.  “Goodbye!  Come Again!  Remember!”  he whispered.

These reflections, they are invisible, but they are everywhere.  We only see half the truth at any one time. But if we open our eyes to the wonder of it all, we might get a glimpse of the true nature or this world, our lives, our selves and our impact.

This is living in fullness.  Eyes Wide Open.

Aho.

Energy Musings.  Here. Now.

Today!

I ask myself “whats happening today?”  and I open to a blank page, a new document. What needs to be written here, in this emptiness?  Before me stands limitless possibility.  Every option available.  There is potential rising with the sun itself, with each breath.

And the page itself is still blank.  I inhale, exhale and write.  Never knowing what comes next.  Never even trying to imagine it.  I become one with the moment.  Sometimes it is awkward, abrupt, rough.  Other times it is flowing, natural, easy.  I expect nothing, judge nothing, edit nothing.  And then I offer it up.

Through this process I reveal not so much a window into an oracle foretelling the future as the heartbeat of the present moment.  My present moment.  And in reflecting my present moment, I reflect yours.  Not because I know something you don’t, but because I am willing to share my imperfection, my not knowing, my knowing, my perfection. All of it.

This process mirrors life itself.  An honest, vulnerable, fierce, raw, natural, aligned life.

What is here for you today, on this blank page? For me, there is potential.

Energy Musings.  Here.  Now.

Today.

Collect the debris in your field, your surroundings, and throw it away!  This kind of spring cleaning requires you to look around you and within you for the ‘trash’ you may be carrying.  Someone else’s baggage (literally or figuratively) perhaps?  Let it go.  Move on.  Get rid of it!

In community, or alone, find the time and space to clear out what no longer is needed.  This could be picking up trash around your property, emptying the trash in your house, or more deeply, releasing your own toxins be they physical, mental, emotional, spiritual or other.

With a joyous heart, allow yourself the time and space to make some room for what it is that is trying to grow, to bud, to blossom, around you.

Time to get to work!
