This Week.
Its time for a transformation. Of thought. Of Being. To take an old habit, well worn concept or previously held belief and push it through the process of transmutation. In this process, where there was constriction and tight holding you will reveal Space. In that space, is the opportunity to change, shift or clear your perspective. It may be a big shift, it may be infinitely subtle.
A shift in ones belief is tough. We can convince our mind that we have accomplished this through careful consideration. But actually, that AHA ! moment must be present for something to have really gotten “in”. A moment where, in a breath, you realize you may have been misguided, mis led or just plain wrong about something. What is there for you in that moment of realization? Fear? Sadness? Guilt? Worry? With a deep breath, and deep understanding, let it go.
Is there anything harder that admitting to the realization that a long held belief is actually not true? Or at least no longer true? If we all can take a look at this particular concept this week and begin our individual journeys towards admitting past mistakes with grace, ease, compassion and self forgiveness, then we collectively help to open the doorway for new ideas to finally… finally… take root and grow.
This week, consider your personal reconciliations.

This Week!
Find your song of Forgiveness. Sing it loud and clear. Sing it soft and intimate. Sing it alone. Sing it in public. Sing it while driving in your car.
What is this song of Forgiveness? To hear it, you must listen deeply. Listen to the cries within. Listen to the cries without. Listen to your heartbeat and your blood. Listen to the stories of your family, its past, its present. Listen to the wind and the trees.
As you listen, you must surrender to what you hear. Be willing to open a channel for this song of forgiveness to enter. A clear channel. This forgiveness is for you, about you, from you. This forgiveness is for all the roles you have played in both being betrayed and being the betrayer. It is for you as the witness who didn’t speak. For you as the silent accomplice. For you as the victim. For you as the perpetrator. For you in all the possible roles, variations and situations that have arisen in this life and in past lives. From the smallest seemingly insignificant to the most painfully obvious.
Now, you must sing. Sing your song of Forgiveness. This song for you, from you. You must repeat it like a mantra in your mind and using your voice until there is no longer any reside left. The forgiveness has washed you completely clean. Completely. For this you need to be honest. And in that honesty, through that forgiveness, you will find a new Freedom. And in that new freedom, the many lives you have touched throughout your own life, will have the opportunity to do the same. To forgive, clear and cleanse.
This is how we change the world. One song at a time.

This Week.
The hard work of our personal and collective journeys right now requires strength, honesty, clarity, discernment, love, patience, hope, surrender, focus and creativity. It also requires us to occasionally just have FUN, relax, be silly, rest and let go.
I am reminded of the Yoga Asana Pashimottanasana: Intense Forward Fold. uttana (उत्तान, uttāna) sandwiched in the center of this word implies “intense”.
For me, the secret of this pose relies in our relationship to this “intensity”. As the back of the body and the entire connective tissue band becomes actively stretched, we have the opportunity to meet this stretch, in particular its “intensity”, consciously and with increasing levels of subtle awareness. Relax too much in this pose and there is no intensity. You’ve missed the point (although you feel deeply relaxed and happy!) Pull yourself too deeply in this pose, and there is too much intensity. (and you risk harm, injury, pain and suffering)
Wherein lies the appropriate balance for YOU? This is the question to ask and what Pashimottanasana brings to us. Using the body as a metaphor for your life (as we know it is!!), Pashimottanasana brings balance and discernment into everything we do. Begging the questions: Where in your life, in your world are you “backing off” too much and Where are you over extended or trying too hard? For each of us it will be different. We have to be VERY careful not to judge others for where they are at or expect them to be where we are at. But Pashimottanasana teaches us this as well. If we practice in a group setting, each person is finding their own appropriate relationship to intensity and without judgement or expectations, ideally, the group understands this. In this way we create conscious community where each person is valued for where they are at.
True Yoga Asana is like that. Each pose teaches us well beyond the limits of the physical body. It teaches us how to live, how to be, how to relate, how to change ourselves and how to change the world.
This week consider your relationship to and your interaction with the Intensity that is swirling around us right now. And maybe use Pashimottansana to come into your true alignment.

This Weekend.
Where do we begin? As we stumble forward from a week of pain, horror, destruction, injustice, from every side from every angle, affecting every one.
Do you remember? Do you remember that this is not the fist time? How far back are you willing to look? Can you look at the past and the present and see that we are all stuck in a mad mad cycle of re-action? What’s it going to take to stop it and shift the tide…for real?
Consider this as a personal starting point: clear your own triggers first. where you get hung up and stuck and caught . where you fumble and fall. Be honest. Theres too much at stake not to be. In that process YOU create a pathway out and we patiently do the hard work of literally paving a new road…together. Each one of us doing our part while maintaining our understanding of the bigger picture.
And let me tell you something: we desperately, DESPERATELY, need a new way to BE and a pathway that leads there. Several actually. Many, to be sure. Yours, and yours, and yours and yours.
We need a new way to think, to work, to live, to accept, to honor, to trust, to love, to speak, to not speak, to understand, to hold, to acknowledge, to let go, to create. Be careful of repeating old patterns that go nowhere. Look for them. As they will be magnified in your personal life and field these next few days. Start here. They will lead you to the connections that are broader in your community and in the world.
Start here…..but don’t stop here. Take it out to world and help create that world you so desire.
peace y’all.

This Week.
Today I share a piece that has numerous citations on the internet. It feels totally relevant this week as we enter the month of July riding on the dawn of the recent New Moon, the celebration of the “birth” of America and the closing of Ramadan. May this find you well this week.
A Hopi Elder Speaks
“You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered . . .
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.”
Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said, “This could be a good time!”
“There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly.
“Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water. And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, Least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
“The time for the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from you attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

This Long Weekend ;-)!
What does it mean to have a “new beginning”? The opportunity to refresh, renew and re start something? Does it mean to completely trash the old? Tear it down and throw it away starting with a “clean slate”? Does it mean to carefully consider what “stays” and what “goes”? Does it mean to work with what you already have?
Consider these questions carefully this weekend as they apply to all the subtle layers of your personal life and space. The pressure and tendency to want to “throw it all away” may be very heavy upon particularly since the Full Moon / Equinox 1-2 punch we experienced last month. But this coming New Moon, at 7:02 am locally, coinciding with the “birthday” of the United States, holds a powerful energetic giving a unique opportunity to close one door with finality and open another with forward thinking positive energy.
The crux, as always, lies in the detail… in the subtlety swirling around these decisions. If individually, we can see these parallels in our personal lives then collectively we have a better chance at creating new pathways with true understanding and with clear vision.
As the world news swirls around us in seeming chaos or order as each individual perspective sees its, take this time to look around YOU. Your home, your life, your family, your work, your children, your health, your relationships, your feelings, your dreams, your friends, your cars…. all of it. If you dismiss the areas that might be “off” in some way, you miss an opportunity to look closely at what is affecting you and your loved ones. Don’t ignore that wound that won’t heal, the cold that is lingering, the tightness in your neck, the rattle in the engine of your car, that pile of laundry that hasn’t gotten put away…. Not this weekend at least 😉 Attention to detail is of utmost importance.
As we step forward with awareness and consciousness, noticeably clear of any triggers, judgements, or expectations, there IS a new path waiting for us all. With a a deep breath, step forward and lead the way.
